KS1 Dance Festival January 2009
The afternoon was a great success with over 80 pupils from 4 Primary Schools coming to perform. The event was held at Rodings Primary School. The schools in attendance were Dunmow Primary, Great Easton, Great Bardfield and Rodings.
Each school had a different theme; Great Bardfield danced and sang to two numbers from Annie, cleverly interpreting each of the songs. Great Easton did a disco dance to SClub7s 'don't stop moving' showing a range of different movements. Rodings theme was country dancing and their two dances were accompanied by traditional costumes; for the girls red skirts and white tops and for the boys red waist coats and white tops with grey trousers. Lastly Great Dunmow performed their dance which was themed on Beijing, the dance included ribbons and a dragon consisting of 4 pupils which was a great idea.
To finish off, the dance teacher from HRS held a workshop with all the pupils with the theme 'The Toy Shop' where each of the children had to pretend to be a either a soldier, a doll, a bouncy ball or a teddy bear. Each school had to create two or three actions for their given toy.
